Welcome to the Department of General Academic Programs at Texas A&M University. The General Studies major is designed to accommodate students needing time to complete course work necessary for entrance into a specific major course of study. General Studies provides some students the opportunity to explore various majors without committing to a specific degree plan. If you already know what you plan to major in, that's great! If you still are a bit unsure, we want to help you choose the major that is right for you! Our goal is to help make your transition to college a smooth one.
