Appeals and Changing Majors
Change of Major:
Non-GEST students in good standing (2.0 or
better cumulative GPR) may change majors by completing the
online change of major form .
Current GEST students below a cumulative GPR of 2.0 will receive an email/letter
IF you must complete the
online appeals form (despite your ability to Grade Exclude) to
determine eligibility to continue as a General Studies student at TAMU.
Read this email/letter carefully and follow the instructions provided
within.
Non-GEST students below a cumulative GPR of 2.0 wishing to change their
major must submit an appeal using the online
appeals form to be considered for admittance into General
Studies.
For more information, please see General Academics Policies and
Rules page at http://gest.tamu.edu/Forms/Policies/policies08a.pdf.
Appeals:
Deadline: June 30, 2009.
Attention Students: Please be aware that submission of an
appeal is not a guarantee of continuance in General Studies or at TAMU. You
will be notified of your status by USPS mail. All mail goes to the address
listed on your appeal.
If you are eligible to utilize First Year Grade Exclusion, please be aware that
the Appeals Committee will take that into consideration when making the appeals
decision. You may complete this process with your current major or choose
to process it later if your appeal is granted.
⢠You MUST consult with a GENERAL STUDIES advisor before utilizing First Year
Grade Exclusion when a grade of a āDā has been earned.
For more information, please see the General Academics Policies and Rules page
at http://gest.tamu.edu/Forms/Policies/policies08a.pdf.
If you have read and understood the requirements, proceed to the
online appeals form.
